Why should you ‘pre book’ your hair appointment?

Today we are all busy. I am busy. You are busy. Our kids and loved ones are busy. It is so overwhelming sometimes to even think of what you have going on in an hour, let alone 1 day to 2 weeks from today.

So why should you pre-book your hair service appointment? Do you make an appointment ahead of time with your dentist or medical professional? Do you book ahead with your vehicle service provider? Do you book ahead to have that amazing massage therapy appointment? Almost everyone will answer yes to at least ONE of these questions and the reason is so that you know you will have a spot saved in the future for your important issue to be addressed, keeping in mind that a last minute phone call or text to any of these providers usually results in having to wait a minimum of a week to several months before they have any space to put you in their calendar. As service professionals, we “live by the calendar/booking” to organize our schedule, plan for important days off when needed, and prioritize holiday hours as they come up. Therefore, it helps TREMENDOUSLY when clients pre-book appointments ahead of time so that you can somewhat guarantee a spot for yourself to ensure you will have a future hair appointment before all of those family & friend holiday events. We try our best to ensure that nobody needs to make that “emergency” text or call to be as I quote: “SQUEEEZED IN” for an appointment by HIGHLY SUGGESTING that you pre book before you leave your present appointment. Let me tell you, it pains all of us as hairstylists, estheticians, massage therapists, and alike to have to turn down that idea and to not be able to make more minutes in the day and fit in an appointment. Every service no matter how long or short has an expected number of minutes carefully decided upon… “squeezed in” hair appointments result in someone feeling rushed (the stylist) and others being inconvenienced ( the client who had a booked appointment) and this just is not fair to all involved that particular day.

For as much as I wish I was a magician and magically was able to create more seconds and minutes within a day, that just is not possible. Please understand that hairstylists need breaks to eat, use the restroom, sit down, and catch up on correspondence throughout the day. Pre booking your holiday hair appointments ensures we both know that you will have a spot saved for your particular hair needs.

Lastly, I completely understand that things come up last minute and you may need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Also, the very last thing I want or NEED is to have to charge anyone for “no show or last minute cancellations” but please know that our time is just as valuable and important as yours. Most importantly, it revolves around being able to get in other clients who wanted an needed that time slot as well. It is the same for yourself in making sure you book something weeks to months before you leave each appointment during the September and October months.

Working together on this matter not only benefits you, myself as your stylist, but shows respect for the other clients who feel the same way about making sure their time and hair needs are respected.
