Looking for a “Fine Hair Specialist” ?
Have you had trouble finding a hairstylist that understands your super fine, thin hair? I can help!!!! Recently, our industry has so many terms and titles added to specific areas of the head: curly hair specialist for example. Also, Blonding Specialists are out there too. But what is a “Fine Hair Specialist” you ask??
Well, let me explain. As a seasoned and experience hair stylist with almost 30 years of experience in haircutting and styling ALL types of hair textures and thickness OR thinness ( is that a word?) I can say there are moments when I have more fine haired clients in my chair in a day or week than those with curly, wavy, or thick, course hair. This has led me to understand that most definitely not all heads are meant to be cut the same EXACT way that we are taught in beauty school. This leads to many unhappy experiences for so many fine haired clients. Too large of sections taken, not the proper tools used, or a terrible eye for actually examining the hair and how it lays will contribute to a poor result on the majority of fine haired clients.
I take great pride in taking the time to thoroughly consult and exam every client’s hair before I even begin touching any scissors. But it isn’t JUST the haircut that makes the difference in how your hair will lay, once dry. It also continues with you at home and what shampoo you are using, what styling aides you use, and what technique you have in your ability to style your hair at home.
Most importantly, make sure that you stay on top of your trims!!!! Regular maintenance is very important in keeping those ends crisp, blunt and split-end free!! If you are unhappy with your current hairstyle and you are thinking there is no hope for your hair, think again. Sometimes it isn’t about taking off a ton of length, it could be more about the CONDITION of your hair and if you have buildup of products or damage from heat tools affecting your special, fragile fine hairs.
